Alex Owen

Alex Owen has worked in various roles in the tech industry since 2011. Alex began their career as a Front End Developer at BAE Systems Applied Intelligence in 2011. In 2014, they took on the role of Laboratory Demonstrator (Computer Science) at the University of Southampton. From 2017 to 2018, they worked as a Full Stack Web Developer at Weapons of Mass Development, Lead Developer at Recommendable.com, and Full Stack Developer at Consortiq USA. In 2017, they also served as Tech Lead/CTO at PLATO Intelligence AI. In 2020, they became a Senior Web Developer at MEGA The Privacy Company. Most recently, in 2021, they were appointed as Head of Product at Aura Vision.

Alex Owen began their education in 2006 when they enrolled in UCL to pursue a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Computer Science. After completing their degree in 2011, they moved on to the University of Southampton where they earned a Master of Science (MSc) in Web Science in 2014. Alex is currently enrolled at the University of Southampton where they are working towards a PhD in Web Science, which they are expected to complete in 2022.
