James Hong

James Hong is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in tunnel systems and transportation engineering. Currently serving as Lead Engineer for Tunnel Systems at Aurecon since April 2022, James previously worked at AECOM Asia Co. Ltd from October 2013 to May 2021 as a Tunnel Ventilation Project Engineer, where responsibilities included the design of ventilation systems for major road and metro tunnels globally. Notable projects include the Central Kowloon Route, KVMRT Line 2 in Kuala Lumpur, and Riyadh Metro Lines 1 and 2. Earlier in his career, James contributed as a Graduate Transport Engineer and a Graduate Rolling Stock Engineer at AECOM and RailCorp, respectively, providing foundational expertise in transportation systems. James holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from UNSW, awarded in 2011.
