Hongtao Chen has an extensive work experience in the field of biotechnology and biomedical engineering. Hongtao started their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Science and Technology of China, where they led a project on optical-tweezers and supervised three research assistants. Hongtao then worked as a Research Assistant at Biomedical Engineering, Purdue University, managing a collaboration project on drug delivery and supervising two research assistants. After that, they joined UC, Irvine as an Assistant Project Scientist, specializing in imaging and spectroscopic instruments. Hongtao was responsible for the administration and maintenance of multiple imaging and spectroscopic instruments.
Hongtao later joined Northwestern University - The Feinberg School of Medicine as the Manager of Nikon Imaging Center and served as a Research Assistant Professor of Cell and Developmental Biology. In these roles, they had a hands-on experience in advanced imaging techniques and managed the imaging center at the university.
Most recently, they worked at Amberstone Biosciences as the Director of Engineering and played a key role in the development of engineering technologies. Hongtao is currently working as the Senior Director of Engineering at Aureka Biotechnologies, Inc. It can be inferred that Hongtao Chen has a strong expertise in imaging technologies and has made significant contributions in their field.
Hongtao Chen obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Optics/Optical Sciences from the Physics Department of the University of Science and Technology of China between 1999 and 2003. Hongtao then pursued a Ph.D in Chemistry at Purdue University from 2004 to 2009.
