John Viel

John Viel has a diverse and extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. John is currently working at Aurinia Pharmaceuticals Inc. as the Vice President of the Product Team for their pipeline. Prior to that, they served as the Vice President of Translational Medicine at the same company.

Before joining Aurinia Pharmaceuticals, John worked at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as a Senior Medical Director. Prior to that, they served as the Executive Director of Medical Affairs at Achillion Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

John also held positions at OPKO Health, Inc., Keryx Biopharmaceuticals, Questcor Pharmaceuticals, Genzyme, Novartis, Serono, and Biogen Idec, where they gained experience in various roles related to medical affairs and scientific liaison.

John Viel has a strong educational background in the field of neuroscience. From 1993 to 1996, they attended Western Illinois University, where they obtained a Master's degree in Microbiology. Following this, from 1996 to 2000, John enrolled at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and successfully completed their PhD in Neuroscience. John continued their academic pursuits, undertaking a postdoctoral fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis from 2000 to 2002, further specializing in Neuroscience.
