Yugang Chen

Yugang Chen has over 12 years of work experience in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry. Currently, they serve as the Director and Head of Analytical Development in CMC-Cell Therapy at Aurion Biotech since April 2023. Prior to that, from January 2022 to April 2023, they held the position of Associate Director in Analytical Development in CMC-Cell Therapy at Garuda Therapeutics. From June 2021 to December 2021, Yugang Chen worked as an Associate Director in Analytical Development in CMC-Cell Therapy at Sigilon Therapeutics, Inc. Yugang also held the role of CMC Analytical Team Lead in Biologics Development at Bristol Myers Squibb from June 2019 to June 2021. Before that, they worked as a Senior Scientist/Analytical Lead at STC Biologics Inc from November 2018 to June 2019 and at Integral Biosystems LLC from March 2016 to October 2018. In addition, Yugang Chen gained experience as an Analytical Biochemist at Sanofi-Genzyme from March 2015 to February 2016, as an Analytical Chemist at Epizyme Inc. from August 2014 to February 2015, and as an Analytical Chemist at Aberjona Labs Inc. from July 2013 to July 2014. Yugang began their career in 2009 as a Chemist at Organix inc, where they worked until July 2012.

Yugang Chen received their PhD in Chemistry from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI, from 2001 to 2006. Prior to that, they obtained an MS in Chemistry from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in China from 1998 to 2001. Chen's academic journey began at Jilin University in Changchun, China, where they earned a BS in Chemistry from 1994 to 1998.
