Sophia Williams

Sophia Williams is a Sr. Software and Controls Engineer at Auris Health, Inc., specializing in the development and testing of cutting-edge technologies in surgical robotics since June 2021. Previously, Sophia was a PhD student at Stanford University from September 2016 to June 2021, focusing on haptics and robotic technologies. An internship at Honda Research Institute USA, Inc. in early 2020 involved programming robotic tools and launching experiments. As a Fellow with the Thomas J. Watson Fellowship from July 2015 to July 2016, Sophia researched microfinance and poverty alleviation strategies across multiple countries. Additional experience includes an internship at Natureback Communities, where database and document organization was essential, and research at Penn State University involving innovative etching techniques for semiconductor applications. Sophia holds a PhD and a Master of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Stanford University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College.
