Group Executive Coal at Aurizon Holdings Ltd

Ed was appointed as Aurizon’s Group Executive for its Coal business in July 2017. Prior to this appointment, Ed held the positions of Vice President Coal Customers, Vice President Coal Service Delivery and Group General Manager Rollingstock Services.

Ed joined Aurizon upon privatisation in 2010, and has more than 20 years’ senior management experience in logistics and heavy industrial manufacturing within Australia and the USA.

Having worked with Aurizon, BlueScope Steel and BHP Billiton, Ed’s leadership experience includes executive management roles in logistics, steel, coal processing and energy.

In his current role, Ed is accountable for growing and managing Aurizon’s 200 mtpa coal haulage operations and customer relationships throughout Queensland and New South Wales.

Operational accomplishments include delivering record safety, productivity gains and customer outcomes contributing more than $100 million per annum to Aurizon’s bottom line.

Ed holds an MBA from the University of Toledo, Ohio and an honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southern Queensland.

Ed serves as a Director of the World Coal Association and the Integrated Logistics Company based in Mackay.
