Harvey S. Scher has over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with a focus on engineering and project management. Harvey S. started their career as the Corporate Director of Engineering at Morgans Hotel Group in 1985. Harvey S. later worked at Loews Hotels as the Regional Director of Engineering and then joined Boutique Hotel Group as the Corporate Director of Engineering. In 2002, they worked at Marx Hotel Group as an Engineering Consultant, specializing in facilities development. In 2004, they served as an Engineering Consultant at The Roosevelt Hotel and then joined Starwood Hotels & Resorts as the Corporate Director of Engineering for Luxury Brands Group, overseeing operations, development, and construction. In 2008, they founded Scher Consulting, LLC, a company specializing in engineering management, project management, facilities development, and fire/life safety. Most recently, they served as the Vice President of Engineering Services at Auro Hotels, responsible for the maintenance, energy, landscaping, technology, and safety of approximately 40 hotels. Throughout their career, Scher has demonstrated expertise and leadership in managing engineering operations, facilities development, and project management in the hospitality industry. Harvey S. holds certifications as a CEOE, PMP, and CFPS.

Harvey S. Scher holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Protection Technology from the New York Institute of Technology. Harvey S. further pursued their education at The Polytechnic Institute of New York University, where they obtained a Masters of Science degree in Engineering Management. Additionally, Harvey S. Scher has obtained several certifications including Certified Engineering Operations Executive from the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Motel Association, Certified Fire Protection Specialist from NFPA, Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute, and Certified Rooms Division Executive from the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Motel Association. Harvey S. also holds a certification as a Six Sigma Greenbelt.
