Vanessa Wills

Vanessa Wills has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Vanessa is currently the Director of Strategic Communications + Engagement at Auror, a position they have held since February 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Director at clearform consulting from January 2021 onwards.

In 2018, Vanessa held the role of Advisor at Trickle. Later in the same year, they joined ChargeNet NZ as the Stakeholder Relations Manager, Lawyer, and Board Secretary, where they worked closely with the CEO and COO on strategy planning, development, and implementation.

Before joining ChargeNet NZ, Vanessa worked at the New Zealand Automobile Association as a Senior Advisor - Infrastructure. In this role, they led various projects related to sustainable transport, emerging technologies, government relations, policy development, and legal interpretation.

Vanessa's earlier work experience includes roles such as Senior Consultant at Exceltium Limited from October 2012 to March 2017, where they led a project aimed at securing funding for the Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust. Vanessa also worked as a Solicitor at Simpson Western from April 2010 to September 2012, specializing in insolvency and later joining the Relationship Property and Employment team.

Throughout their career, Vanessa has gained expertise in strategic communications, engagement, government relations, policy development, and legal interpretation. Vanessa has demonstrated their ability to work in diverse environments and lead projects with successful outcomes.

Vanessa Wills completed their education at the University of Auckland, where they obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) (Hons) degree in Environmental Law from 2013 to 2015. Prior to that, they attended the University of Otago from 2003 to 2007 and received a LLB/BA degree, focusing on Law, Gender, and Women's Studies.
