Alan B. Hollingsworth, MD was the first breast-dedicated surgeon in Oklahoma where he was the Founding Medical Director of the OU Institute for Breast Health at his alma mater. There, he was the first Holder of the G. Rainey Williams Chair of Surgical Breast Oncology, and was a pioneer in risk assessment, genetic testing, and high-risk surveillance strategies. In 2000, he began a 20-year tenure as the Medical Director of the Mercy Hospital Breast Cancer Program in Oklahoma City where both his practice and research focused entirely on using breast MRI for screening and pre-operative tumor mapping. He currently serves on the Scientific Advisory Board of Aurora Healthcare US Corp, as well as the Clinical Vice President of Screening Programs.
