Lawrence Duffy's work experience begins in 1993 at IMG Media, where they worked as the Head of Channel, Executive Producer, and OB Producer/Director. Lawrence held various responsibilities such as formatting, hiring, pitching, and selling global shows. Lawrence also traveled extensively for work. In 2002, they joined the BBC as a Programme Editor, contributing to a wide range of sports coverage. In 2005, they moved back to IMG Media as the Vice President and Head of Development, responsible for winning new business. In 2009, they joined Endemol as the Managing Director of a newly created division, focusing on generating new sports business. Finally, in 2012, they established their own company, Aurora Media Worldwide, specializing in sports media. The business was acquired by All3 Media in December 2018.

Lawrence Duffy attended York St. John University from 1986 to 1990, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature.
