Michaela Haberkern

Michaela Haberkern has extensive experience in library leadership and management, currently serving as the Executive Director of Aurora Public Library since January 2016, where responsibilities include developing policies, managing public services managers, and ensuring excellent customer service. Previously, Michaela served as the Adult Services Manager and Assistant Director at Hinsdale Public Library, overseeing budget planning, annual reports, and staff training, while also acting as a liaison to the library foundation. Earlier roles include positions as a Reference Librarian at Skokie Public Library and St. Louis County Library, where Michaela contributed to grant writing, digital projects, and the development of reader advisory services. Michaela holds a Master of Library Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Bachelor of Arts in English and History from Drake University.
