James Jackson has extensive experience in software engineering and robotics, currently serving as a Senior Staff TLM at Aurora since August 2019, where responsibilities span multiple roles in mapping and onboard localization. Previously, James was involved in research at Brigham Young University, developing algorithms for drone navigation and efficient control systems for quadrotors while pursuing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering. Additional experience includes software engineering at Inertial Sense, Inc., and an internship focused on flight control at Kitty Hawk, as well as a robust background in R&D and construction entrepreneurship. James holds both a Bachelor's and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University.
