Caterina Brott

Technical Director at AUSGAR Technologies

Caterina Brott, the technical director for AUSGAR since 2005, has over 20 years of experience providing cybersecurity support to the Department of Defense. She is a Fully Qualified Navy Validator for major programs.

Her Information System Security Engineering (ISSE) experience includes multiple operating systems, databases, and networking devices such as Windows, Solaris, Trusted Solaris, Red Hat Linux, MS SQL Server, and Cisco. Caterina was the cross-domain solutions lead for the Trident Warrior program and the information assurance lead for the Navy Maritime Domain Awareness program while AUSGAR supported those two programs. She is currently the Navy’s Consolidated Afloat Networks Enterprise Services (CANES) cyber security test lead.

Caterina has successfully accredited multiple Navy systems so they could obtain an authority to operate, and she has led and conducted a large number of security assessments. These include working with the National Security Agency and more recently with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) to document security technical implementation guides (STIGs) for Windows by Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements. She provided support and guidance on a Navy program that piloted the RMF process.

Prior to joining AUSGAR, Caterina was a senior systems engineer at Syzygy, specializing in cyber security services. She was also a programmer/analyst for Scripps Clinic for seven years.

She has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Science from Coleman College. Certifications include CISSP, Alcatel Certified Switch Professional, and Netscreen Certified Security Associate.
