Ian Bass has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the financial industry. Ian is currently the Head of Data Analytics at Austin Capital Bank. Prior to this, Ian worked at Kestra Financial, where they held the positions of Director of Data Analytics and Data Governance Manager. In these roles, they led the Enterprise Reporting team, supported business intelligence and analytics needs across the organization, and oversaw data quality and maintenance. Before joining Kestra Financial, Ian worked at Charles Schwab in roles such as Team Manager, Conversion Analyst, and Compliance Specialist, where they gained expertise in implementing 401(k) plan changes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and running projections for large plans.
Ian Bass completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics at The University of Texas at Austin from 2001 to 2006. Ian later pursued a Master of Science degree in Data Science at Indiana University Bloomington, where they studied from 2015 to 2018. In addition to their formal education, Ian obtained a certification as a Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) from ASPPA in August 2008.
