Darnell Shields

Darnell Shields is currently serving as the Executive Director at Austin Coming Together since July 2011, where he oversees all strategic and operational aspects of the organization. Prior to this role, Darnell held the title of Interim Executive Director at the same organization. With a background in technology, he also worked as the Information Technology Manager, overseeing all organizational technologies. Darnell has a diverse professional background, including experience in event marketing, digital literacy coordination, electrical systems technician, and civic leadership. He holds a Certification in Civic Leadership, Public Policy & Civic Engagement from the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago, a Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship from the University of Illinois Chicago, and vocational diplomas from Moler Barber College and City Colleges of Chicago.
