Aju Karthick G currently serves as a Consultant and Advisory panel member for Incredible India, Ministry of Tourism, India since March 2024, while also holding a position as a Panel advisory member for the Central Board Of Film Certification, India. With a robust history in documentary filmmaking, Aju is the Founder of G TALKIES® INDIA, rated as a documentary journalist in South India by BBC India, and has been recognized as an honored documentary filmmaker since 2013 with the Austin Film Society. Aju's previous experience includes a substantial tenure as a documentary journalist for BBC from July 2015 to March 2024 and a brief period as a documentary filmmaker with BBC Studios. Leadership roles include Chief Executive Officer at parambara™ Groups India Pvt Ltd, starting in September 2013. Aju's academic credentials encompass a Doctor of Philosophy in Documentaries and Mass Communication from Texas State University and State University of Dallas, along with an MBA in Mass Communication/Media Studies from Icfai Business School.

Founded in 1985 by filmmaker Richard Linklater, AFS creates life-changing opportunities for filmmakers, catalyzes Austin and Texas as a creative hub, and brings the community together around great film. AFS supports filmmakers towards career leaps, encouraging exceptional artistic projects with grants and support services. AFS operates Austin Studios, a 20-acre production facility, to attract and grow the creative media ecosystem. Austin Public, a space for our city’s diverse mediamakers to train and collaborate, provides many points of access to filmmaking and film careers. The AFS Cinema is an ambitiously programmed repertory and first-run arthouse with broad community engagement. By hosting premieres, local and international industry events, and the Texas Film Awards, AFS shines the national spotlight on Texas filmmakers while connecting Austin and Texas to the wider film community.
