Rick Kaven

Rick Kaven, P.E. is an accomplished Mechanical Engineer and Senior Lead Project Manager currently with the Austin Independent School District since June 2013, where responsibilities include managing HVAC and mechanical system upgrades across 120 schools and facilities with project budgets of $5-15 million. Prior experience includes serving as Senior Project Manager at the Texas Facilities Commission, overseeing $10 million in safety and accessibility projects along with a $5 million energy conservation initiative, and as a Senior Project Manager at Jones Lang LaSalle, where Rick managed projects for major clients in Central Texas. Earlier roles at Motorola Semiconductor involved leading significant cost-saving plant consolidations and overseeing facility management for a large manufacturing site. Rick's career began at DuPont as a Process Design Engineer, where key projects yielded substantial annual profit and cost savings. Rick holds an MBA from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Akron.
