Joe Swann currently serves as the Vice President of the Austin Police Association since September 2022. With extensive experience in law enforcement training, Joe is an instructor with CSAT, the Texas School Safety Center, and Practical Shooting and Defense, while also holding a position as an adjunct instructor at Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT). Joe specializes in teaching active shooter responses and tactics for law enforcement in educational settings, emphasizing the safety and security of schools. Joe’s foundational experience includes serving in the US Army as an Infantry Squad Leader from 1995 to 2001 and working with the Austin Police Department as a firearms/tactics instructor since 2002.
