Sharlan Simmons

Sharlan Simmons is an experienced medical laboratory professional with a comprehensive background in laboratory testing and analysis. Currently serving as a Medical Laboratory Technician III at Austin Regional Clinic since June 2022, Sharlan conducts routine medical laboratory tests. Previously, Sharlan worked as an LC/MS Scientist at Capitol Pain Institute, performing toxicology urine drug testing from August 2016 to June 2022. Prior experience includes roles at The Hospital at Westlake Medical Center as a Medical Laboratory Technician, where moderate and high complexity testing was performed, and a tenure at the Texas Department of State Health Services as a Microbiologist, specializing in immunological and serological testing. Sharlan’s career began with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from The University of Texas at Austin and complemented by an Associate of Arts and Sciences in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Technology from Austin Community College.
