Steve Merson Agsm

Steve Merson AGSM is an accomplished violinist and teacher with extensive experience in various musical organizations. Currently serving as a Violin Teacher at Dolce Music Studio and the Austin School of Music North since 2021 and 2020 respectively, Merson has also held the position of Principal 2nd Violin with the Central Texas Philharmonic Orchestra since 2018. Merson's background includes substitute roles with the San Antonio Symphony and Austin Symphony Orchestra since 2008, as well as a previous engagement as Acting Principal 2nd Violin at Austin Opera from 2020 to 2023. Merson's professional journey began with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, where an extensive tenure as a Violinist spanned from 1984 to 2007. Merson holds an Associate's degree in Violin from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, completed between 1978 and 1982.
