David Portbury

David Portbury has extensive experience in supply chain management within the healthcare sector, particularly at the Australian Red Cross Blood Service since 1990, where David currently serves as the National Supply Chain Planning Manager. In this role, David leads the implementation of a sales and operations planning framework to optimize blood collection, inventory, and cost management to ensure excellent customer service. Previous positions at the Blood Service include acting National Supply Chain Manager and Production Services Manager, where David was responsible for overseeing the provision and distribution of safe blood and blood products. David's career also includes experience as a Scientist at the Australian Red Cross Blood Service and as a Medical Laboratory Scientist at the South London Regional Transfusion Centre.
