Joana Almeida Correia

Joana Almeida Correia is an experienced professional in urban planning and architecture, currently serving as the Manager of Modern Buildings Strategy at the Department of Transport and Planning since October 2024. Joana has been an Emergency Shelter delegate with the Australian Red Cross since June 2016 and previously held various roles at the Master Builders Association of Victoria, including Policy and Industry Collaboration Advisor. Joana's extensive background includes project development at the UN Global Compact - Cities Programme while at RMIT University, where significant contributions were made towards sustainable urban development initiatives. Joana has also worked as an architect for various firms, including DSA Architects International, focusing on projects across multiple countries. Joana holds a Master's Degree in International Urban and Environmental Management from RMIT University and a BSc with Honours in Architecture from Faculdade de Arquitectura - Universidade de Lisboa.
