Zahra Fakki

Zahra Fakki currently serves as Acting Lead Migration Support and Case Manager at the Australian Red Cross since October 2017. With extensive experience in interpretation, Zahra worked as an Interpreter for Oncall from May 2008 to September 2022, specializing in Somali and Arabic languages across various settings, including courts and hospitals. In August 2022, Zahra volunteered with Legal Aid, completing family mediation placement. Previous roles include Co-Facilitator in Children Contact Services at Anglicare WA from March 2014 to June 2020 and Office Secretary at The Muslim Women's Support Centre of WA (Inc) from January 2014 to October 2017, managing meetings and agency communications. Zahra also worked as a Youth Worker at Victoria Park Youth Accommodation from August 2008 to September 2011, organizing programs for schools and parenting. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Social Work from Edith Cowan University, a Diploma in Family and Community Services from South Metropolitan TAFE, and training in Family Dispute Mediation from The College of Law Australia.
