Dan Sturrock

Investment Director at Australian Renewable Energy Agency

Dan Sturrock has a diverse and extensive work experience in the energy and renewable energy sector. Dan is currently the Director at the Living Future Institute of Australia, a position they have held since September 2021. Prior to that, they worked at the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) as an Investment Director, where they were responsible for various projects and played a key role in developing ARENA's investment strategy in energy storage.

Before joining ARENA, Dan worked as an Associate Director (Energy & Utilities) at Pricewaterhouse Coopers, where they advised on divestments and acquisitions of renewable energy projects. Dan also had a leadership role in PwC's renewable energy sector team.

Dan's energy and renewables experience extends further back to their time as an Independent Consultant, where they advised companies in the renewable energy sector. Some of their major clients included Lend Lease Ventures, Carnegie Wave Energy, and Visy.

Earlier in their career, Dan worked at Macquarie Bank as a Senior Manager and Manager for a period of ten years. Dan also gained experience as a Credit Analyst at Bankers Trust for a year.

Dan Sturrock completed the Foundations of Directorship program at the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2017. In 2009, they attended the Centre of Sustainability Leadership. Prior to that, Dan Sturrock attended Ivanhoe Grammar School. Dan later pursued a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a focus on Economics at the University of Melbourne.
