Ivo Friedberg

Ivo Friedberg began their work experience as an intern at Fabasoft in 2009. Ivo then had an internship at the Austrian Institute of Technology in 2011, where they worked on secure system modeling in the context of e-Government. Later in 2011, they became a Junior Researcher at the same institute.

In 2013, Ivo became a Researcher at the Austrian Institute of Technology, contributing to various research projects in the field of IT security, focusing on industrial control systems in smart grid deployments. Ivo worked in this role until 2017, during which they also pursued their MSc and later their PhD.

From 2017 to 2019, Ivo worked as an IT Security Specialist at Austrian Power Grid AG. Ivo then transitioned to the role of Team Lead Information Security Operations at the same company, where they are currently working. In this role, Ivo is responsible for building a strong security operations group focused on SOC setup and operations, incident detection and response, security architecture, vulnerability management, and coordinating pen tests and audits. Ivo is also involved in projects related to compliance guaranteeing measures.

Ivo Friedberg holds a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree from Queen's University Belfast, which they obtained from 2014 to 2017. Prior to that, they completed a Master's degree in Informatik from Technische Universität Wien from 2011 to 2014. In 2012 to 2013, they also attended Linköping University, although the degree obtained is not specified. Ivo began their educational journey by earning a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Informatik from Technische Universität Wien, which they completed from 2007 to 2011. In addition to their formal education, Ivo Friedberg obtained the TUtheTOP certification from Vienna University of Technology's High Potential Program in an unspecified year.
