Joseph Scaperrotta

Director of Business Development at Autel Robotics

Joseph Scaperrotta has worked in various roles and companies throughout their career. In 2015, they started as an Information Technology Security Analyst at Nassau County, where they worked for two months. In the same year, they also joined DCE UAS as a UAS Pilot, a position they held until 2018.

From 2016 to 2018, Joseph worked at Troy Web Consulting as a Project Manager and Cyber Security Specialist. In this role, they conducted code reviews, assessed application security, and planned remediation activities. Joseph also worked with developers and clients to monitor projects at different stages of the Secure Software Development Life Cycle and designed and implemented front-end websites and applications.

In 2018, Joseph became the Director of UAV Operations at Mechanical Testing Inc, a full sUAS solution company. Joseph provided expert insight on drone and payload investments and managed operations related to unmanned aerial vehicles until 2021.

Starting from 2021, Joseph joined Volatus Aerospace as the Director of Business Development - USA. Joseph played a key role in driving the full potential of unmanned technologies. In this role, they led a diverse team of experts and ensured Volatus Aerospace's leadership in the industries they served.

In 2022, Joseph took on multiple roles. At Autel Robotics, they became the Director of Business Development, focusing on developing new business opportunities. Additionally, they became an Adjunct Professor of Unmanned Systems at the College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security, and Cybersecurity, where they share their knowledge and expertise in the field.

Joseph Scaperrotta attended Nassau Community College from 2012 to 2014, where they obtained an Associate's degree in Information Technology. Joseph then went on to the University at Albany, SUNY from 2014 to 2016, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Informatics, with a concentration in Cyber Security. In addition to their formal education, Joseph has obtained several certifications. In January 2019, they obtained the Level 1: Thermographer certification from FLIR Systems, and in February 2019, they received the Consumer Repair Technician certification from DJI. Earlier, in October 2018, Joseph obtained the Enterprise Repair Technician certification from DJI. Furthermore, in March 2017, they earned the FAA Part 107 Pilot certification from the Federal Aviation Administration.
