Chan Beals has worked in the medical field since 1997. Chan began their career at ICOS Corporation as a Sr Scientist. In 2002, they moved to Pfizer as a Director. In 2006, they joined Merck as Senior Director and Head Experimental Medicine, and then became Vice President, Clinical Pharmacology in 2012. In 2016, they were appointed Chief Medical Officer at Abide Therapeutics. In 2020, they became SVP Translational Medicine at Autobahn Therapeutics, Inc. and their current role is Chief Medical Officer at Calibr at Scripps Research.
Chan Beals received a BS in Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology between 1979 and 1983. Chan then attended the University of Washington - School of Medicine, where they earned a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) in 1990. From 1990 to 1997, they studied Pediatrics and Pediatric Rheumatology at the University of California, San Francisco.
