Akmal Bakar

Akmal Bakar is a Principal Research Scientist at Autodesk, specializing in developing physics-informed data assimilation algorithms and exploring reinforcement learning for engineering design. Previously, Akmal conducted research as a Senior Research Scientist and Research Engineer, focusing on reduced order modelling, optimization, and the integration of machine learning into engineering processes. Akmal's early experience includes internships at UCL, where they researched hydraulic sensors and designed a Drone Control Lab, as well as at OFO Tech, where they worked on drone technology for mapping projects. Akmal earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from UCL, graduating with first-class honors.
