Karl Willis

Karl Willis has extensive experience in AI and design, particularly in the context of 3D printing and generative design. At Autodesk from August 2009 to November 2024, Karl served as Senior Research Manager, leading various teams focused on model operations, AI, and innovation initiatives, including collaborations with prestigious institutions and NASA's JPL. Prior to Autodesk, Karl co-founded a data analytics service for additive manufacturing, which was acquired by FATHOM, and held the position of Principal Research Engineer on Autodesk's hardware team, recognized for innovations in 3D printed electronics. Karl's academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Computational Design from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master's in Product Design from the University of Tsukuba.
