Vice-president Of The French Competition Authority at Autorité de la concurrence

Anne Wachsmann-Guigon serves as the Vice-President of the French Competition Authority since June 2025, following extensive experience in competition law, particularly in mergers and antitrust. A partner at Linklaters from 1999 until June 2025, significant contributions include advising Apple on a major appeal against the European Commission. Additionally, Anne has been a visiting professor at the College of Europe since 2017, teaching seminars on EU merger control. Anne is an admitted member of the Paris Bar since 1994 and has also held leadership roles, including President of the Linklaters Foundation, which promotes inclusive education and cultural patronage. Educational qualifications include a Master of European Studies and a Diploma in Higher European Legal Studies from the College of Europe, along with a Maîtrise in administrative law from the University of Strasbourg.

The French competition authority is an independant institution specialized in the supervising of anticompetitive practices, providing expertise on market functioning and reviewing merger transactions. It was created in 2009, after transformation of the Conseil de la concurrence. Serving the consumers’ interests, its goal is to uphold fair competition and contribute to the competitive functioning of markets in Europe and at the international level.
