JP Ross has a diverse background in energy and environmental studies. With experience in companies like East Bay Community Energy, Me, Origin Energy, Varitime Systems Inc, Sungevity Inc, Vote Solar, and Greenpeace, they have developed programs to reduce GHG emissions, increase solar utilization, and drive operational efficiency. Their roles have ranged from Vice President to International Consultant, showcasing their expertise in business development, strategic relationships, and local development. JP Ross holds degrees from the University of California, Santa Cruz and Berkeley in Environmental Studies/Chemistry and Energy and Resources, respectively.
Ava Community Energy
Ava Community Energy (Ava), formerly East Bay Community Energy (EBCE), is the local, not-for-profit electricity supplier powering Alameda County and the City of Tracy (electricity service to the Cities of Stockton and Lathrop will begin in 2025). Ava provides clean, green energy at low rates to our 640,000 customers. We reinvest earnings back into the community to create local green energy jobs, local programs, and clean power projects. Ava member cities include Albany, Berkeley, Dublin, Emeryville, Fremont, Hayward, Livermore, Newark, Oakland, Piedmont, Pleasanton, San Leandro, Stockton, Tracy, and Union City. The unincorporated areas of Alameda County (including Ashland, Castro Valley, Cherryland, Fairview, San Lorenzo, and Sunol) are also served by Ava.
