James Brust

James Brust is an experienced educator and creative professional specializing in virtual production and multimedia technology. Currently serving as the Artistic Associate Professor of Virtual Production and Innovation Hub Director at Chapman University since August 2025, Brust previously held the position of Associate Professor of Virtual Production at Columbia College Chicago, where responsibilities included the development of an interdisciplinary virtual production program. With a background as Adjunct Faculty at Marquette University, Brust worked on diverse projects including the Director of the Wakerly Media Lab for Innovation & Creativity and an Instructional Technologist.
