Bess Cohen

Bess Cohen is an experienced operations and program support professional currently serving as an Operations Support Assistant in the CEO Office at Avaaz since April 2025. Previously, Bess worked as a Program Associate at Impact Justice and held multiple roles at the Urban Institute, including Special Assistant and Project Administrator, as well as Special Assistant and Project Coordinator in the Justice Policy Center. Bess volunteered with the National Alliance on Mental Illness - Philadelphia, facilitating support groups for women and individuals with mental health challenges, and served as a Social Media Manager for the Center for Hope & Health, LLC. Earlier experience includes positions as a Computer Operator at the Delaware County Bureau of Elections and Executive Assistant at Achievement Network, where Bess contributed to enhancing organizational culture and efficiency. Bess is a Haverford College alumna, holding a Bachelor's degree in Sociology, with a background in crisis management, program development, and mental health advocacy.
