Dr. Tobias Herbst

Dr. Tobias Herbst has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Dr. Tobias currently serves as the Head of Process Data Technology at Avacon Netz GmbH, where they are responsible for budgeting and managing process data, long-distance traffic, and communications technology. Dr. Herbst leads a team of project managers and oversees project planning, tendering, construction, and documentation.

Prior to their role at Avacon Netz GmbH, Dr. Herbst worked at TenneT TSO GmbH as the Lead Operations & Maintenance Engineer. In this position, they developed the asset strategy for TenneT's global offshore business and managed the end-to-end maintenance process. Dr. Tobias also spearheaded the digital transformation of the company's operations approach.

Before joining TenneT TSO GmbH, Dr. Herbst held various roles at Schaeffler, including Director of Business Development & Key Account Management, Manager of Business Development & Key Account Management, Global Strategy Manager, and Assistant to the Management Board of Industrial Aftermarket.

Additionally, Dr. Herbst gained valuable experience as a Master Thesis Student at P3 Group and as a Bachelor Thesis Student at Spectra-Physics.

Dr. Tobias Herbst holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Applied Physics and Laser Physics, which they obtained from FH Münster in 2012. Dr. Tobias continued their education at FH Münster, completing a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Industrial Engineering, Business and Economics, and Management in 2014. Dr. Herbst further pursued their academic journey at Universität Osnabrück, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree, specifically a Dr. rer. pol., in Business Administration and Economics from 2019 to 2022. In addition to their formal education, Dr. Herbst also obtained an edX Verified Certificate for Electric Cars: Introduction from Technische Universiteit Delft in July 2022.
