Shara Summers has a strong background in the field of medical science liaison. Their most recent position was as a Senior Medical Science Liaison at Avadel Pharmaceuticals plc, starting in 2022. Before that, they worked at ALK as a Medical Science Liaison from March 2021 to December 2022. In this role, they were involved in various projects such as leading a medical affairs newsletter project, co-producing an allergy-focused podcast, and leading a medical information project. Shara Summers attended Texas A&M University from 1998 to 2002, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Shara then went on to The University of Texas at Austin from 2004 to 2008, where they obtained their Doctor of Pharmacy degree in Pharmacy. In terms of certifications, Shara has obtained several additional certifications throughout their career. In January 2009, they received their Immunizations certification from the American Pharmacists Association. Shara later obtained their Medication Therapy Management certification from the same institution in November 2013. Shara also holds two board certifications: one as a Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist from the BPS - Board of Pharmacy Specialties, which they obtained in October 2011, and another as a Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist, which they obtained in December 2016, also from the BPS - Board of Pharmacy Specialties.
