Don Allen

Don has spent over 25 years implementing technology management strategies with a focus on removing the barriers to growth and success. He recently spent 6 years in private equity for Summit Partners performing technology diligence and guidance across a diverse portfolio of 100+ companies; culminating in a CIO position at Excelerate Brands, a fashion-focused growth-through-acquisition platform. Don’s expertise in e-Commerce and fulfillment operations is extensive. As Senior Director of Technical Operations with Zulily, he led infrastructure design and compliance, enabling explosive growth from startup through IPO. He was CTO of Drugstore.com (acquired by Walgreens), and led technology and operations at ONYX Software and Costco Wholesale. Don’s career began in the U.S. Navy and he holds a BS in computer science from the University of Maryland and an MS in computer information systems management from the University of Maryland’s Graduate School of Technology. He enjoys snowboarding, hiking, and judo.
