Dr. Meike Herget has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Dr. Meike is currently the Vice President of the Palo Alto Chapter and previously served as the President of the AWIS Palo Alto Chapter at the Association for Women in Science. Dr. Meike is also the Co-founder and CTO of Avails Medical, Inc. since 2014. Additionally, they were part of the StartX Med business accelerator program with Avails Medical, Inc. in 2014-2015. Prior to that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine, focusing on sensory neurobiology. Dr. Meike also worked at the Stanford Office of Technology Licensing (OTL) as part of the Stanford Innovation Farm Project (iFarms) and attended the Ignite Program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Dr. Meike Herget has a PhD in Membrane Biochemistry from Goethe University Frankfurt, which they obtained in 2008. Dr. Meike also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Inner Ear Biology at Stanford University School of Medicine, starting in 2009. In 2013, they attended the Stanford University Graduate School of Business for the Stanford Ignite program, specializing in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies.
