Hubert Gmünder

Hubert is Avaloq’s Group General Counsel overseeing all legal, compliance, risk and security issues. Before to joining Avaloq, Hubert spent two years researching bankruptcy law, including a one year stay at Harvard Law School financed by the Swiss National Science Foundation. Prior to that, Hubert worked as an outside counsel in the Corporate / M&A department of the law firm Schellenberg Wittmer both in Zurich and Geneva. Hubert holds a master’s degree in law from the university of Lausanne and a Ph.D. from the university of Neuchâtel. He is admitted to the Swiss bar. Hubert is currently enrolled in the Executive MBA program at the University of St. Gallen. Away from work, he loves to spend time on the tennis court where his mind still thinks he has the fitness and skill level he used to have 20 years ago. In addition, he’s an avid skier, hiker and golfer and he loves to spend time with his family.
