Niels van Tienen

Niels van Tienen has an extensive work experience in the clinical operations field. Niels currently holds the position of Director Clinical Operations and Country Manager EU at Avania since July 2022. Prior to this, they were the Director of Clinical Operations EU and Director of Clinical Operations EU with added HR responsibilities at Avania from September 2021 and March 2020, respectively.

Before joining Avania, Niels worked at Factory-CRO Group as the Director of Clinical Operations and HR from December 2018 to March 2020. Niels also had various roles at Factory CRO for Medical Devices and IVDs starting from July 2007. Niels served as the Director of Clinical Operations, Training, and HR from January 2018 to March 2020, Project Manager from July 2011 to January 2018, Sr. Clinical Research Associate (CRA) from July 2009 to August 2011, and CRA from June 2007 to June 2009.

Niels began their career at Medtronic as a CRA from June 2006 to May 2007 and then moved on to Vitatron where they worked as a CRA from March 2005 to May 2006.

Niels van Tienen completed their Masters in Health Sciences (Movement Sciences) from Maastricht University between 1997 and 2000.
