Jorge Fukuda

Jorge Fukuda has extensive work experience in various industries and roles. Currently, they serve as the Deputy CTO and Engineering Director at AvanStrate Inc., where they are involved in the development and manufacturing of precision glass for LCD panels and cover glass. Jorge is responsible for technology transfer worldwide and also manages sales activities.

Prior to this, Jorge was a Principal Engineering Project Manager at Ocado Solutions, where they led engineering projects and managed the project team. Jorge also worked as an Engineering Manager at AMZL LOGISTICS LTD, responsible for building and managing an engineering organization in charge of designing and deploying last-mile sorting processes for Japan.

Jorge has also worked at AstraZeneca as an Associate Director, managing a CAPEX expansion project for a pharmaceutical operation. At Saint-Gobain Isover, they served as a Senior Global Project Manager, overseeing the overhaul of a glass wool manufacturing plant.

During their tenure at Corning Incorporated, Jorge held several positions, including Project Manager, Functional Engineering Manager, Large Size Glass Technology Platform Manager, WW BOD Manager, and BOD Process Engineer. Jorge was involved in various projects related to LCD finishing lines, precision glass finishing process technology, and automation in glass handling processes.

At Tsubakimoto Chain Co., Jorge worked as an Equipment Engineer, where they focused on the design and fabrication of material handling equipment for the apparel and newspaper printing industry. And at Panasonic do Brasil, they served as a Supervisor of Operation and Engineering, overseeing product development and manufacturing processes for CRT color TVs and computer monitors.

Before entering the corporate world, Jorge managed a 25-hectare farm, where they were responsible for planning and executing farming activities, maintaining machinery, and coordinating logistics for harvest.

Overall, Jorge Fukuda has a diverse work history, with expertise in engineering management, project management, manufacturing, and technology transfer.

Jorge Fukuda completed a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering with a focus on mechanical at Escola de Engenharia Industrial SJC in the years 1980 to 1985. Later, they pursued a Master's degree in Technology Management at The Wharton School from 2004 to 2006.
