Kai Yi Carrie Chan has a varied work experience. Kai Yi Carrie began their career in 2008 as a Summer Intern at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. Inc., EAME Division Six Sigma and Operational Innovation. In 2009, they worked as a General Management Assistant to the Chairman of SEA Group (251:HK) and as a Manager (Planning & Design) at the Urban Renewal Authority. In 2010, they joined ITC Properties Management Limited as a Project Manager. In 2012, they were promoted to Senior Project Manager at the same company. In 2013, they became a Senior Project Manager at Paul Y Management Limited. In 2018, they began working as Co-Founder & CEO of Avant and as Director, Design at THE 13. In 2021, they became a Fellow at Unreasonable. Additionally, since 2010 they have been a Director, Board of Directors at INSEAD Hong Kong Alumni Association, where they have been responsible for P&L of professional and social events, budget, cost control, pricing matrix and ticketing strategy for Alumni Forum 2017, and building partnerships with the local business community.

Kai Yi Carrie Chan's education history includes obtaining a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD in 2008, a Master of Architecture from The University of Hong Kong from 1998 to 2000, a Certificate of Real Estate Investment Finance from Asia Pacific Real Estate Association in 2012, and a Property Valuation & Project Management from Oxford Brookes University from 2014 to 2015. In addition, Chan has obtained two certifications, an Authorised Person (List 1) from the Building Authority Hong Kong SAR in May 2005, and a Registered Architect from the Architects Registration Board Hong Kong SAR in June 2003.
