Kacee Sims, PhD, has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Kacee began their career as a National Science Foundation Undergraduate Researcher at the National Science Foundation (NSF) and Texas A&M University in 2004. After that, they served as a JSU Ambassador and Student Recruiter at Jacksonville State University from 2003 to 2005. Sims then joined the Georgia Institute of Technology, where they worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant from 2005 to 2006 and as a Graduate Research Assistant from 2006 to 2011. In 2012, they became a Project Manager in Lipidomics at Avanti Polar Lipids, Inc., a position they held until 2016. From 2016 to 2019, they worked as a Technical Marketing Specialist at Avanti, promoting the company and providing technical support to customers. In 2017, Sims took on the role of Alliance Manager at Avanti, overseeing the Global Alliance Partnership with MilliporeSigma. Kacee'smost recent position at Avanti was as the Director of Marketing and Technical Services, which they began in October 2019.

Kacee Sims, PhD, holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biochemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology, earned between 2005 and 2011. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Marketing from Jacksonville State University, completed from 2001 to 2005.
