Patrick Schexnailder

Patrick Schexnailder has a diverse work experience in the field of project management and business development. Patrick is currently serving as the Head of Project Management at Avanti Polar Lipids since July 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Business Development Manager Latin America at the same company from May 2022. Schexnailder also worked as a Sr. Project Manager at Avanti Polar Lipids from October 2020 to July 2023, where they significantly increased the number of active projects and annual revenue. Patrick also implemented a cross-functional project management tool for the company. Before joining Avanti Polar Lipids, they worked at Southern Research as a Program Manager and Project Leader for the Alliance for Innovative Medical Technology (AIMTech) from 2013 to 2018. Their responsibilities included developing medical device technologies in collaboration with physicians and inventors and providing consulting services. Schexnailder also has experience as a Senior Development Engineer at Purdue Biomedical Technology Incubator from 2011 to 2013, where they evaluated and developed medical device technologies invented at Purdue University. Patrick has also served as a Business Development Fellow at Alfred Mann Institute at Purdue University from 2010 to 2011. Patrick started their career as a Lab Manager and Research Assistant at Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering from 2006 to 2010, where they developed a polymer-silicate nanocomposite for biomedical applications. Schexnailder also worked as a PhD Graduate Student at the Department of Chemistry LSU from 2004 to 2006, where they focused on the physical characterization of polymer-silicate nanocomposite hydrogels.

Patrick Schexnailder holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences/Biomedical Engineering from Purdue University. Patrick also obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Louisiana State University. Prior to that, they attended New Iberia Senior High School. Patrick has additional certifications including being a Smartsheet Product Certified User and obtaining the Smartsheet Core Product Certification. Patrick is also a Certified SolidWorks Professional in Mechanical Design.
