Kristin Franke

Director Translational Diagnostics at AvenCell

Kristin Franke has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Kristin is currently the Director of Translational Diagnostics at AvenCell since January 2022. From May 2015 to January 2022, they worked as a Lead Scientist at Gemoab GmbH. Prior to that, they were a postdoctoral researcher at TU Dresden from October 2012 to August 2014, studying oxygen sensing mechanisms. Kristin also worked as a part-time biology teacher at MANOS Gymnasium from February 2013 to July 2013, teaching grades 5 and 10. Kristin started their career as a diploma student at the Institut de Biologia Molecular de Barcelona (IBMB), CSIC from February 2008 to December 2008, and as a student assistant at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics (MPI-CBG) from October 2004 to March 2005.

Kristin Franke earned their prediploma in Biology from University Jena between 2002 and 2004. Kristin then went on to pursue a diploma in Biology at the University of Potsdam from 2005 to 2008. Subsequently, they attended Technische Universität Dresden, where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biomedicine from 2009 to 2012.
