Thomas S.

Thomas S. began their career in 2021 as a Software Engineer at Avenda Health. Thomas then moved to Zoetis Inc. where they served as a Software Developer. During their time at Zoetis Inc., they saved the company thousands of man-hours by automating genetic evaluation laboratory operations. Thomas also developed parts of the front-end and backend for the application using Angular, Typescript and Microsoft SQL Server. In 2020, they returned to Avenda Health as a Machine Learning Engineering Intern. During their time as an intern, they developed a python tool to learn landmarks for image histogram standardization, decreasing landmark learning time from 6 hours to 10 minutes via multiprocessing. Additionally, they built file conversion tools allowing for expanded training and testing datasets.

Thomas S. received an Associate's degree in Business Administration and Management, General from Kalamazoo Valley Community College between 2015 and 2018. Thomas then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Western Michigan University between 2016 and 2020. Additionally, Thomas S. has obtained three certificates from Coursera: Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization (March 2020), Neural Networks and Deep Learning Course Certificate (February 2020), and Machine Learning Course Certificate (November 2019).
