Olive O’Driscoll

Director & Co-Founder at AventaMed

Olive O’Driscoll is the Director and Co-Founder of AventaMed. Olive has over fifteen years of experience in medical device product development and commercialization.

O’Driscoll began their career as a Clinical Research Manager at Medtronic CryoCath, where they managed clinical trials for new cryotherapy products. Olive then moved to University College London as a Clinical Project Manager for the TARGIT trial, a large international study of breast cancer treatment.

In 2008, O’Driscoll became a Clinical Project Manager at Cancer Research UK, where they managed the IBIS II trial, a large randomized controlled trial of breast cancer prevention. During their six years at Cancer Research UK, O’Driscoll also oversaw the development of several new cancer treatments from concept to commercialization.

In 2014, O’Driscoll left Cancer Research UK to co-found AventaMed, a medical device company that specializes in developing new treatments for women’s health conditions. AventaMed’s products include the Aventus Breast Pump and the Ovapace Vaginal Ring, both of which are FDA-approved.

Olive O'Driscoll has a MSc in Bio-medical Engineering from the University of Aberdeen, a BSc in Sports and Exercise Science from the University of Limerick, and a Leaving Certificate from St Angela's College. Olive also has certification from the University of Aberdeen in MSc and from The Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) in PgDip Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering.
