Diyan Patel has worked in a variety of roles since 2018. In that year, they began working as a Supplemental Instructor (Organic Chemistry, Cell Biology, and Genetics), Biology Lab Teaching Assistant, and Chemistry Teaching Assistant at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In 2018, they also began working as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the UAB School of Medicine, Department of Surgery, where their thesis title was "A Preliminary Study: Regulation of VCAM-1, MCP-1, and Pig Thrombomodulin in GTKO/CD46 pig aortic endothelial cells when stimulated with TNF-α and antibody-dependent, complement-independent serum". In 2020, they began working as a Graduate Student Researcher and Graduate Teaching Fellow at Boston University. In 2021, they began working as a Teaching Assistant (Biostatistics) at Boston University School of Public Health, and as a Tutor at Wyzant. Finally, in 2022, they began working as a Research Associate at Aviceda Therapeutics.
Diyan Patel attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham from 2016 to 2020, where they received a Bachelor of Science - BS with Honors in Neuroscience and Biology. In 2020, they began attending Boston University, where they are pursuing a Master of Science - MS in Human Physiology (Research Track).
