Lu Liu

Lu Liu is a Data & MLOps Engineer currently employed at Aviva since July 2025, following the acquisition of Direct Line Group, where Lu worked in the same capacity from September 2022 to July 2025, focusing on automating tools and processes for the machine learning model lifecycle. Prior to this, Lu was an instructor at Code First Girls from March 2022 to December 2022 and served as a Senior Software Engineer at Capital One from November 2021 to September 2022, contributing to a data science platform that enhanced the efficiency for data scientists and analysts. Lu also held a Senior Software Engineer position at LSEG Data & Analytics from September 2019 to November 2021, where contributions included developing production-ready machine learning models and CI/CD pipelines. Educational qualifications include an MSc in Data Science and Analytics with Distinction from the University of Leeds and a BSc in Oil and Gas Engineering with First Class Honours from China University of Petroleum.
