Nicholas Savage

Nicholas Savage is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in embedded software development, project management, and team leadership within the automotive and energy sectors. Currently serving as a Principal Development Engineer at AVL Software and Functions GmbH since January 2017, Nicholas manages multiple embedded software projects and leads a team involved in high voltage components and software development using Matlab/Simulink. Previous roles include Project Engineer at Sasol Technology, where Nicholas managed facility improvement projects, and as a Research Officer at the University of Cape Town, focused on developing a biomass gasification pilot plant. Nicholas has also worked as a Motor Control Software Engineer at Optimal Energy and as a Project Engineer at Cape Town Iron and Steel Works, contributing to various technical and managerial projects. Nicholas holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, along with Bachelor's Degrees in Electro-Mechanical Engineering and Information Systems, all obtained from the University of Cape Town.
